As a teacher of 20 years experience, I have met many families and taught children with M.E. I did this course April 2019 and feel it gives a real insight that is necessary to support pupils. It is interactive, containing 2 core modules and one for Education, Business, of Healthcare. The developers have done their research and targeted the key areas. It will really open your eyes to this disease.

M.E./C.F.S. is proven to involve brain inflammation, autonomic dysfunction, and metabolism malfunction. Pupils suffer fluctuating health and cognitive abilities (as well as fatigue) and therefore require a tailored approach. Families unanimously say the lack of training is the root of the harm caused to their children by the educational and welfare system. Their one wish is for adequate training to be undertaken.

I found the Stripy Lightbulb CIC Course very interesting and informative. Not having M.E. myself and having very limited exposure to the illness, my knowledge of it was next to nothing.

Upon completing this course, I feel my understanding of the difficulties that M.E. sufferers go through physically, mentally, emotionally and financially has increased and although I have never experienced the condition personally, I believe I can now empathise, to a point, through knowledge.

The course content was clear to read and understand, and I found the videos insightful as further information was given by experts and sufferers themselves. For me, this made the subject more personable and gave a more emotional connection.

Overall, the course was interesting, informative and very much improved my knowledge of M.E. I would recommend this course to anyone who has a duty of care over people with M.E./C.F.S. It provides a much-needed insight to understand how this illness affects people in their daily lives.

What I like about this program:

It offered a good balance of learning styles – reading, watching embedded videos, further reading (is available if you want to know more details), games and quizzes.

Very informative and some topic and research are an eye-opener.

Simplified research /report/stats so it is easier to understand and, if needed, links are available to learn more.

The sketches videos are so cool and the last video of the young lady touches my heart!

The training is really easy to navigate and has enough variety and different types of learning points to keep it engaging and interesting.
